Overview

ATSS Group has a client in Florida in need of a Senior Outfitting Planner.

 

Purpose  

Has day to day implementation responsibility for planning and scheduling the OPC work related to the Outfitting Integrated Program Team, including the development of the Integrated Master Schedule including development of work packages, logical relationships, resource loading, integration with other IPT plans, Critical Path analysis, and change management.

Functions

Develop, mentor and train junior level structural planners.
Monitor and maintain work package changes driven by ECN’s.
Generate work packages, material requisitions, project component order releases, certain inventory transactions, etc.
Develop outfitting work packages/work orders, maintain production routings and monitor process lead time to support the master schedule.
Develop and manage a portion of the master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet production schedule and delivery date of marine vessels.
Application of the principles and practices of production planning and inventory control in an MRP environment. Ability to enter, maintain and generate accurate data and reports.
Overall responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work, manpower and materials within or between departments, crafts, and work locations.
Manage and update C-4 Production Facility schedule and work packages.
Update and monitor labor/material estimates and actual performance at the work order level.
Design and create scheduling and staffing models that provide the best optimization of labor cost and production volume and efficiency.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and blueprints, specifically scantlings, outfitting, structural fabrication and assembly drawings.
Perform material take offs to support labor estimates and supply chain requirements.
Monitor IMS and provide in-yard-need dates to support the production plan.
Monitor and track enabling events such as engineering outputs, material and equipment ordering, and delivery schedules perform work in accordance with ISO standards and EVMS system description.
Maintain forecast dates in schedule.
Identify/Implement BCR’s
Assist CAM and production with schedule, labor and subcontractor management.
Establish, maintain and update subcontractor schedules.
Assist/create, run reports weekly/monthly.
Maintain high standards in schedule quality.
Support CAM’s in VAR analysis
Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectations.
Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple projects.
Analyze production specifications and shipyard capacities to determine manufacturing processes, manpower, material, and tools, etc.
Communicate with craft superintendents to determine status of assigned work.
Expedite operations that delay production schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of production operations.
Provide information needed for Earned Value Management reporting.
Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends and holidays.
Job Requirements
Qualifications

Education/Experience:  BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, Management, Construction, or Engineering with 5 plus years of experience.

Required:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Experience with Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word and Outlook
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience using Primavara Project Planner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, and government officials.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and blueprints, specifically inter-system.

Desired:

Experience in industrial engineering, shipbuilding, and production processes.                                      
Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows. 

Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
