Child %26 Family Advocate, Autism - Part Time, 4 hrs/wk, Temporary Position
Position Summary/Essential Duties:
Serves as a consultant to the Smooth Transitions to Adulthood with Rainbow (STAR) team, parents of patients, and the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and Psychology.
- Participate in the STAR Clinic by being accessible to provide support to caregivers of children with ASD and to assist families with navigating community and school resources.
- Participate along with subject matter experts in a parent education series. This three-part series will guide caregivers in preparing for their child’s transition into adulthood.
Serve as resource on transition activities for the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and Psychology by participating in parent/family panels in the division seminar and other educational activities.

Experience & Knowledge: |

Must have personal or professional advocacy experience with children diagnosed with autism or other neurodevelopmental disability. In addition, must have experience with transitioning a child diagnosed with autism or other neurodevelopmental disability to adulthood. |
