  • Attend customer and internal meetings; and test, troubleshoot, and write optical performance reports
  • Work directly with an Optics Technical Specialist to deliver quality optics designs that are manufacturable with injection molding techniques, and that meet customer and manufacturing requirements.
  • Evaluate tradeoffs in concept designs using CAD, predictive engineering, value analysis/value engineering, testing, and simultaneous engineering with the manufacturing plants.
  • Provide the necessary information to support designs that can be manufactured cost effectively while meeting customer requirements including performance and durability.
  • Provide optics prescriptions that perform in production tooled components as predicted by simulations on a First Time Through basis to avoid tooling changes and program timing effects.
  • Follow the project through customer testing and into production.
