The Director of Business Development will lead efforts to identify and oversee the development, implementation, and sustainment of strategies to grow and differentiate YVFWC as a leader in healthcare third party services. These strategies may include developing business opportunities and partnerships and creating innovative business models and programs. This highly visible role will work collaboratively across the enterprise and externally to enhance the reach of YVFWC. This resource is key to formulating strategies for the long term and influencing others to embrace a broader vision of possibilities in the organization beyond what has already been established.

Qualifications for this position:

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field. Four years of additional experience may be substituted for the required education.

Preferred Education: Master’s degree.

Required Experience: Five years of experience in developing business and partnerships in healthcare; experience in successful acquisition of business specific to healthcare industry; successful sales of products/services; and experience managing department/organizational budgets; two years’ experience supervising staff.

Preferred Experience: Experience in a Clinical/Healthcare setting.

Professional Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Current WA state driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required or Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of FQHC, HRSA CHC/MHC Program Requirements, PCMH, and State/Federal laws governing health centers and 501c3 requirements for federal funded agencies preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, mediation, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong commitment to customer service, quality of care, and organizational excellence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytic, organizational, communication, and facilitation skills. Expertise in use of personal computer for word processing, spreadsheets, and data base programs.
  • Forward thinking with the ability to engage others in casting a broader and focused vision.
  • Ability to earn the trust, confidence, and respect of the senior leadership team by listening, learning, and building credible relationships across the entirety of YVFWC.
  • Expert at effectively pivoting between strategic development and tactical deployment.
  • Adept at communicating throughout the organization and at all levels; translating the strategy to entity and individual role and responsibilities.
  • Astute with applying change management principles to effectively lead and navigate ambiguity and uncertainty. 
  • Dynamic professional approach that inspires confidence.
  • Builds high performing teams; develops and mentors talent.
  • Ability to proactively cultivate new and innovative approaches and solutions to business problems.
