Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Recovery Specialist in the Unity Place South program at Behavioral Health Network!

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Unity Place South program with the following:

  • Organizing care activities and assisting nurses and counselors in the management of individuals served, facilitating their participation in unit programs and activities.
  • Establishing and maintaining therapeutic and collaborative relationships with individuals served and members of the health care team.
  • Monitoring medication administration and oversight and documenting incoming and outgoing medications.
  • Recognizing the unique needs of individuals served with dual diagnosis, medication assisted treatment, and other special populations, and adjusting communication style to obtain positive therapeutic outcomes.
  • Assisting doctors and nurses with exams and simple procedures.
  • Ensuring a safe and clean environment, including searching individuals’ belongings and additional items to maintain a contraband-free environment.
  • Performing intakes, admissions and discharges.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of individuals served information at all times in accordance with 42 CFR.

The Unity Place South at BHN, a 16-bed co-ed program in Springfield, MA, provides residential rehabilitation services to individuals suffering from addiction and mental illness. What are we looking for in a Recovery Specialist?

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) credentials (preferred).
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English (preferred).
  • Competency in simple mathematics, reading comprehension, written and oral communications, following instructions, simple use of charts, reports and records.
  • Ability to understand, empathize, and work with an addicted population and mentally ill population.
  • Valid driver’s license for occasional transportation of individuals (required).
