Bighorn Mining, LTD in Hinton Alberta, Canada is hiring for the following position:

Surface Mine Manager Based in Hinton, Alberta, this is a true "Greenfield" operation with substantial upward mobility for the right surface coal mine professional. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing surface mining operations and consulting with other departments such as engineering and maintenance. The candidate shall be self-motivated and must have good communication, good writing and organizational skills. The job will require field work on the construction and mine worksite.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Mine Manager is directly responsible for all safety, environmental, production, and profitability for a large surface mining operation that will produce in excess of 7 MM tonnes annually within the 5-year budget plan. Lead all safety initiatives, programs, and policies with a target of -0- NFDL's.

Adhere, monitor, and comply with all provincial and federal environmental regulations Preparation and execution of a 5-year production, financial, and capital budget.

Development and implementation of monthly and quarterly forecasts consistent with the 5-year plan to ensure production and sales commitments are met.

Coordination of daily, weekly, and monthly activities among production, preparation, sales, and maintenance personnel.

Implementation of technological advancements in the mining industry (production monitoring, autonomous mining equipment, etc) Evaluate effectiveness of mining/production plans and recommend alternative procedures. Other duties as required.

Education/ Skill Requirements:

4 Year Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering from an accredited degree granting in institution.

7-10 years' experience in surface coal mine management; preferably as a Mine Manager or Superintendent at an operation which included blast casting, production dozers, shovels, and preferably HWM's.

Exceptional planning, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills (English).

Ability to prioritize and multitask assigned projects.

Ability to liaise effectively with the management team, hourly workforce, regulators, and the local community Experience with coal surface mine permitting is a plus.

Professional Engineer Certification is a plus.
