Description

The Marketing Manager develops and implements short-term and long-term marketing strategies to support College accessibility, and recruitment and retention objectives. The Marketing Manager drives consistent brand identity and awareness to broaden reach, increase accessibility to quality and useful information, and enhance market position across all marketing platforms. The Marketing Manager is also responsible for providing support to faculty, staff, and leadership for various initiatives requiring marketing expertise.

Develops and implements short-term and long-term marketing plans in support of College recruitment and retention objectives.

  • Strategizes, develops, and manages marketing and promotional activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
  • Uses data metrics to monitor engagement rates and to drive, and develop, strategic recommendations for integrated marketing, messaging, and content tactics.
  • Utilizes data and research to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies.
  • Develops timelines, schedules projects, and advises appropriate personnel regarding deadlines.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with print and electronic media.
  • Manages projects with printers or media production personnel to meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Oversees and manages marketing program budget allocating funds when necessary to support all enrollment streams.
  • Manages institutional contracts related to marketing, seeks competitive bids, and negotiates rates with outside service providers.
  • Identifies and implements new opportunities to use technology to recruit and retain students as trends and technology change.  
Drives consistent brand identity and awareness to broaden reach, increase accessibility to quality and useful information, and enhance market position across all marketing platforms.
  • Designs, writes, edits, and produces internal and external publications.
  • Photographs and produces video marketing assets for print, digital, and streaming platforms.
  • Manages consistency of messaging and provides support to other staff and faculty utilizing institutional messaging.
  • Researches, coordinates, and implements marketing activities related to trade shows, college fairs, and other recruitment activities.
  • Ensures appropriate use of the KCC logo, lettering, colors, and standards of design for print and digital communications.
  • Writes special feature articles to promote specific programs, courses, workshops, seminars, and College activities.
  • Develops and produces audio and visual content and presentations, publications, and audiovisual materials to promote College goals, programs, and activities.
  • Produces a variety of marketing promotional and collateral materials including print advertisements, postcards, brochures, flyers, and booklets.
  • Creates, posts, and moderates content on KCC social media platforms.
  • Manages relationships with outside agencies regarding ongoing promotional campaigns.
Provides support to faculty, staff, and leadership for various initiatives requiring marketing expertise.
  • Advises, guides, and assists staff in producing marketing and informational material.
  • Collaborates with the KCC Cabinet and Foundation on various projects, including event promotion, program launches, and securing grants.
  • Communicates clear expectations and proactively assists content contributors in meeting project deadlines.
  • Actively supports KCC recruitment and retention efforts in all enrollment streams.
  • Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates student work-study employees in support of departmental service.
  • Knowledgeable about current social media, digital marketing trends, and best practices.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Participates in College shared governance councils and committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Proficient in developing and managing comprehensive marketing campaigns that connect with multiple audiences.
  • Proficient in creating compelling written content and producing engaging visual and video marketing assets.
  • Proficient at using design programs including InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Premier, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient in time management, organizational and analytical skill; pays close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage workflows and deliverables from colleagues across the College.
  • Ability to meet deadlines independently, and to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, while proactively communicating delivery issues and/or risks before they affect project completion.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field with at least two years of related experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in writing marketing content and preparing marketing materials with demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequently moving from stationary sitting positions to standing and walking.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
Assistance with moving expenses can be provided for the successful candidate.
