Research Economist (Entry Level) Cleveland, Ohio
The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking to fill this position in its Cleveland, Ohio office.
Responsibilities include: Engages in economic research, analysis, and discussions that are used to advise and inform the President and Board of Directors on economic conditions and/or various policy issues. Responsibilities include publishing research in professional journals, writing for Bank publications, and advising Bank management on policy issues. Improves the effectiveness of other Bank departments and the Federal Reserve System in general; informs and enlightens a broader audience of policymakers and interested parties; and furthers the organization’s knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of economic issues. Maintains consistent, independent research activity and actively participates in the public education mission of the Research department.
Hours: Mondays - Fridays, 9 am-5 pm.
Education and Skill Requirements: Doctorate (PhD) degree in Economics or Finance or its substantial equivalent (completion of all PhD coursework including doctoral dissertation)/foreign equivalent degree accepted. Coursework in financial markets, banking and finance, and econometrics. Demonstrated graduate level academic research in the areas of financial markets, banking and finance, and economic or financial networks. Dissertation must focus in the areas of financial markets, banking and finance, and economic or financial networks. No prior work experience required; but two or more years of post-doctoral research strongly preferred in the areas of financial markets, banking and finance, and economic or financial networks.
