This position will assist the Head Coach in the successful operation of the women’s rowing program, including but not limited to:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with coaching of student-athletes. 
  • Management of general recruiting inquiries, scheduling and set up official visits. 
  • Rigging and preparation of equipment. 
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with junior rowing coaches. 
  • Evaluate and recruit local rowers and non-rowing prospects. 
  • May participate in selection and training of the novice student-athletes.
  • Maintain media outlets for the program through social media, alumni, and other areas. 
  • Work with staff toward goal of excellence in all aspects of Washington Rowing. 
  • Represent the University of Washington, the Athletic Department and the Rowing program with the highest professional and ethical behavior. 
  • Prepare department reports and maintain records as required. 
  • May assist with supervision and logistics of team travel. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pacific-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University.  The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations.  As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

    REQUIREMENTS: 
    Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of successful coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level, or two years of successful experience coaching junior rowers, or two years of competing at the Senior National Team level. 

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Proven ability to relate to student-athletes.
