Manager Pediatric Trauma - Surgery Trauma Support

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8-4

Summary: 

Ensures the efficient and effective daily operations of pediatric trauma care. In collaboration with the Pediatric Trauma Program Medical Director, directs, integrates, and evaluates the program. Holds self and staff accountable for identification, evaluation, documentation and appropriate intervention of patients’ needs to ensure quality and cost-effective patient care. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines establish by MetroHealth Medical Center. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Required:
Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
Registered Nurse with current Ohio licensure.
Five years clinical experience in a critical care (i.e. ICU, CCU, ED) and/or trauma program setting.
Skilled in the provision of trauma nursing care for appropriate patient population.
Obtains certification from the Continuing Research Education Credit (CREC) Program through Case Western Reserve University within one year of hire of employment.
Instructor certification in a trauma related program (TNCC, ATLS, ABLS, CE Instructor, etc.) within one year of employment.
ATLS course coordinator status or obtains within 2 years of hire date
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates ability for problem solving and decision making
Current membership in a professional nursing/trauma organization AND maintains through duration of employment.
Willing and able to work evenings and weekends as needed based on operational/departmental needs.

Preferred:
Master’s Degree in a health-related field
Five years of progressive health care management experience encompassing program planning and analysis and financial and operational management.

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read job related documents.
Ability to use computer.
