Work that matters. The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is a national leader in affordable housing and community development. Our team is seeking a HCD Financial Associate I who can assist in getting payments processed timely and accurately. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to take initiative and be able to propose a fix when a problem arises. The chosen candidate will have a positive attitude, be a team player, accurately key in financial data and provide great customer service (answer all inquiries both timely and professionally and ensure the inquirer is satisfied by the end of the day.

The Department of Housing and Community Development Headquarters is located in Prince George's County across from the New Carrollton Metro stop.
POSITION DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to individuals who possess the following:
Experience with accounts payable and/or payment processing experience.
