The Re-Engagement Specialist provides support services for students to promote retention and academic success. The Re-Engagement Specialist will connect students to a variety of student services and academic activities to ensure progression toward graduation leading to career or transfer goals; works in collaboration with faculty, various student service professionals and students at the college. |
Duties/Functions |
- Develop and incorporate re-enrollment efforts for withdrawn and stop-out students; provide timely interventions to assist students in their academic progress
- Co-create specific academic and personal plans with students to achieve their academic, personal and professional goals
- Serve as a liaison for instructional support services such as tutoring, library services, and distance learning support
- Reconnect with stop-outs by providing individualized and substantive information on academic programs, financial aid, academic support and expedite their re-admission process
- Conduct follow-up communication via phone, text, email, live chat, web, and other methods of communication
- Identify trends and research best practices in student persistence and completion
- Review advising reports, existing notes in Navigate, and transcripts to better understand former students’ unique circumstances.
- Document student progress and current academic needs of students; track any patterns for stopping-out from the college
- Participate in departmental meetings, serve on College committees, and attend professional development. Demonstrate and model the College’s employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility, and teamwork.
- Performs all duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education Required |
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university |
Education Preferred |
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university |
Experience Required |
Two (2) years of student retention or related experience at a college or university setting |
Experience Preferred |
Five (5) years of student retention or related experience at a college or university setting |
