Full time position, Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM

Salary Range: $17.30 - $23.41 /hourly; $36,122 - $48,880  annually

Job Summary: Northland Community and Technical College has an opening in student services for an Admissions Coordinator. This position exists as the sole expert to review, research and evaluate all documents relevant to admissions to determine eligibility and acceptance into the college. The incumbent will serve as the primary expert and resource in the admissions office controlling and maintaining new and returning student records, international student records, PSEO student records, and transfer student records. The incumbent performs office communication functions as they relate to callers and walk-in traffic by determining the nature of request and providing responses.

Principle Responsibilities and Results:

  1. Serve as the fundamental expert for the Admissions office determining eligibility and acceptance for admissions ensuring all requirements are met which includes verifying and processing admissions applications, examining, researching and verifying data to make eligibility determinations college-wide. The incumbent will continually evaluate and improve processes so that accurate records are maintained and available when needed to ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met.
  2. Maintain the applicant system using the Minnesota State approved student reporting system and the college record scanning system.
  3. Assist students, parents, high school counselors and the general public with appropriate and accurate information and provide clerical support to employees as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of:

  • Current data entry procedures, including filing and storage, and verification of accuracy before entering
  • Computer software applications to create spreadsheets from a variety of sources and compile lists and letters for purpose of tracking students, etc.

Skills in:

  • Customer service sufficient to answer phones, refer callers, and greet visitors/student with courtesy and respect
  • English sufficient to understand and be understood during in-person, e-mail/written and phone interactions with others

Ability to:

  • Keyboard / type (40 wpm), sufficient to produce memos and correspondence in an efficient and timely manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the college's programs/majors
  • General knowledge of higher education policies and procedures related to admission, financial aid and registration functions
  • Knowledge of Minnesota State's student record system
  • Knowledge of admissions or student affairs related work in higher education
  • Attention to detail sufficient to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks
  • 2 year degree, certificate, or diploma
