CP Kelco U.S. Inc. is seeking a Team Lead Research Eng. – Biogums Product & Process R&D for San Diego, CA. Lead teams of research tech. that are designing chemical plant equipment & devising processes for manufacturing chemicals & products, specifically high value fermented biogums, including Specialty Xanthan, Diutan , Gellan, & Cellulose from Bacteria. Lead teams of research tech. & eng. who are developing large-scale fermentation downstream processes for new products, coordinating transfer of technology to manufacturing sites, & improving existing processes by reducing costs, eliminating bottlenecks, and increasing yields, productivities, & quality parameters. Use knowledge of & experience with statistical analysis of processes in particular familiarity with Six Sigma techniques. 20 % travel to support plant start-ups & operations problem solving in North America, China, & possibly Europe. 20 % travel for equipment vendor trials & review meetings with Eng. & Construction Firms.
