The University of Jamestown seeks applicants for a Technical Administrative Support staff professional for its Doctor of Physical Therapy and Graduate Professional Studies programs located in Fargo.

The selected candidate will provide the first line of IT support and assistance for UJ-Fargo campus users, including guests.  

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Working closely with the UJ IT department to provide maintenance of the Fargo campus’s computers and systems
  • Setting up teleconferences for the graduate program on the Fargo Campus
  • Supporting program specific software/hardware like ExamSoft and CleverTouch
  • Supporting students with their IT needs for their personal devices.
  • Coordinate with printer support services provider for printer supplies and services
  • Security, Maintenance, and backup of the file storage system in Fargo

This candidate will also be responsible to promote the Fargo campus IT help desk as a support resource available to all users of the University of Jamestown’s computer system associated to the Fargo campus. This includes organizing and prioritizing support requests as they are reported to the position to help resolve issues in a timely manner and by conducting preliminary student, faculty, and staff training on using the UJ technology system.  This will also include being available on occasional weekends for IT support needs.

The Technical Administrative Support position will also help the staff and faculty of the Fargo campus with other administrative and clerical tasks as needed. Some of these responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing maintenance and care of the university car, and the building’s security system (programming door access fobs, security cameras, and checking footage).

Knowledge/ skill requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience
  • Fluent with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently, with other users and meet deadlines
  • Computer and printer troubleshooting (MacBook support experience a plus)
  • Experience in using online Learning Management Systems

Pluses:

  • Experience in networking and Windows Active Directory
