Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Counselor – Case Manager in the Unity Place South program at Behavioral Health Network!

 

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

Your experience, knowledge, and great skills will support the Unity Place South program with the following:

  • Performing a thorough and complete assessment within established time standards, focusing on the extent to which alcohol or drug use has interfered with individuals served functioning.
  • Developing an individualized treatment plan.
  • Creatively using group and individual sessions to assist individuals to maximize treatment.
  • Providing 1:1 and group recovery support, education, and referrals and care coordination of services including but not limited to MAT, psychiatry and aftercare services.
  • Establishing and maintaining therapeutic and collaborative relationships with members of the health care team.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of individuals served information at all times in accordance with 42 CFR.

Unity Place South at BHN, a 16-bed co-ed program in Springfield, MA, provides residential rehabilitation services to individuals suffering from addiction and mental illness. At Unity Place South, staff empower those we serve to be in the ‘driver’s seat’ of their lives and clearly define their needs, wants, hopes and dreams. We deeply support and encourage the pursuit of our individuals’ development of autonomy, self-esteem, and involvement in their own care.

**$2000 sign-on bonus eligible for full time hires; potential for higher full time sign-on bonus amount for a limited time**

Job Requirements:

What are we looking for in a Counselor-Case Manager?

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required); Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred).
  • CAC, CADAC or LADC (preferred).
  • At least two years of experience in substance abuse or behavioral health counseling (required).
  • Experience providing case management and/or counseling services as part of a clinical team to patients in a treatment setting (preferred).
  • Ability to understand, empathize and work with an addicted, dually diagnosed and/or methadone maintained population.
  • Ability to approach individuals served in a sensitive and therapeutic manner to understand and work with patients’ problems.
  • Skilled in assessing the range of addiction, dual diagnosis and methadone issues, recognizing special needs and adjusting treatment approaches accordingly.
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English (preferred).
