We have an opportunity to work on Search Orchestration layer of our Search engine. You will be working very closely with our senior engineer in understanding and developing application on AWS platform. You will be working with subject matter experts alongside with team senior engineers to gather requirements to understand the technical and business impact. As a Software engineer, you will be part of a development team where your primary focus is to enhance and bring new ideas to optimize our current search platform solution to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our search results using the latest and greatest technologies with large amounts of  data needing to be processed to search across distributed product databases using AWS eco system. You will focus on developing Java, spring/boot, microservices and C# .Net applications using state of the art container architecture by using our home-grown robust automation pipeline to build, test and deploy the solution to customers 

As a member of an Agile development team, you will develop and demonstrate software in 1- or 2-week iterations as part of an Agile Release Train developing to a SAFe Program Increment. You will make commitments to the business and meet those commitments as a team. You will strive for continuous improvement in knowledge and productivity and display a pattern of continual learning and a desire to broaden your software development and design skills.

What you’ll do

· Contribute to system, implementation, testing, delivery, and operation of components for EBSCO web and mobile based products and services.

· Work directly with product management and your team while analyzing and decomposing complex software requirements into simple user stories for planning and execution.

· Collaborate with your team to estimate the size and complexity of the features. Perform the technical design, implementation, and testing of features and commit to stories to be accomplished in an iteration.

· Drive value and build to continuously improve the quality of the team’s deliverables. Author well-engineered solutions using test-first/test-driven methodologies.

· Work alongside other software engineers to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices for design, coding standards, performance, security, delivery, and maintainability.

Skills or experience you need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or other Technical related degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required. People graduated from coding boot camps are welcome to apply.
• 0-3 years of professional Java, C# .Net, JavaScript, and/or Python.
• Good understanding of algorithm and data structures.
• Good understanding of SDLC process
• Proficiency with source code management tools such as git.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
