The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking an Air Quality Planner(s) in Air Quality Planning and Operations.

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supporting the implementation of strategies that reduce pollution from the transportation sector, with emphasis on increasing use of alternative fuels or replacing older vehicles
  • Assisting with the analysis of existing data and trends, including use of GIS, Excel or other quantitative approaches
  • Assisting with the development, measurement, and implementation of project and program goals, performance measures, and milestones
  • Monitoring state and federal policies, rules, and legislation
  • Planning and attending meetings, events, and workshops
  • Drafting correspondence, technical reports, and other documents
  • Assisting with grant writing and reporting
  • Assisting with the preparation and delivery of presentations
  • Maintaining awareness of the latest developments in the alternative fuel and electric vehicle industries
  • Developing and applying knowledge of air quality grant programs such as the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan and EPA Clean Diesel Program to support local stakeholders
  • Assisting with the review and maintenance of NCTCOG air quality and Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities websites
  • Participating in outreach events and meetings to inform stakeholders and the public of project information

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and ability to multi-task on short deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) desired
  • Working knowledge of alternative fuels and/or fleet operations desired

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical, quantitative methods
  • One year of job-related experience or less
