The Life of an HCA Nurse

Clinic nurses are in a unique position to make a difference. They aid patients from the moment they enter the clinic by collecting patient information, supporting patient evaluation, administering treatments and medications as needed, and educating patients.

Responsibilities:

• Provides care of urologic patients by assisting physicians with minor surgical procedures in the outpatient clinic setting, including urologic radiographic and ultrasound examinations, cystoscopies, stent removals, prostate biopsies, vasectomies, uroflow post-void residual test, and catheter insertions/removals. 

• Serves as the lead of the procedure area providing direction to provides direction to procedure surgical technicians and Urology technician. 

• Responsible for managing procedure area with respect to coordinating patient care, providing patient education and communication, physician orders, medication administration, documentation, equipment, and supplies.

Qualifications

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing    
• Current Louisiana or Compact license required
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained
• One year of urology experience preferred
