Engineer I

Baldwin EMC is accepting applications for the position of Engineer I. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required, as well as a valid driver's license. Position responsibilities include the design of electric power distribution lines which are cost-conscious, efficient, acceptable to meet the needs of the membership and conform to all applicable federal, state and local requirements. Will survey and stake lines for electrical service both underground and overhead for individuals and subdivisions, including redesigning existing line from overhead to underground or relocating overhead lines. Calculate the cost of construction to be accomplished. Coordinate with members the maintenance of right of way before line construction begins and coordinate utility easement. Draw work orders, calculate loads and clearances. During major storms and outages assist linemen supervisors or crew to restore service. Respond to calls and concerns about new services, upgrades and inspections. Duties include operating personal computer, walking long distances, driving stakes, hammer and probe conduit depths.
