UTILITIES PLANT MAINTENANCE FOREMAN
WES/Plant Operations
Full-time, Monday – Friday
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provides supervision of staff including: orientation, training, scheduling, and evaluation.
Responsible for recommendations concerning hiring and terminations.
Assists in budget preparation, monitors that work activities and purchases are within budget and prepares related documents.
Assists in developing and determining administrative policies, regulatory actions, and capital purchases.
Assists in the planning and design of improvements to the Water and Wastewater Plants, Pump Stations and other facilities.
Coordinates, monitors and personally participates in the mechanical maintenance, repair and installation duties to ensure the safe and efficient operation of City Water and Wastewater Plants, Pump Stations, process equipment and other facilities.
Maintains and repairs building structures and grounds.
Responds to emergency situations as required or in accordance with emergency operations plan.
Occasionally operates heavy construction equipment.
Performs all work in compliance with established City safety standards.
Performs other work as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
High School graduate or GED certificate and four (4) years experience as a crew leader or equivalent.
Class “D” Level Operations License in Water and Wastewater or obtain within one (1) year of employment.
Must possess a Class “A” CDL with air brakes, or obtain within 120 days of employment. Commercial drivers instruction permit (CDIP) must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds.
Confined Space Entry Certification within one (1) year.
Completion of City Supervisory Course or obtain within one (1) year.
Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database computer application programs.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate degree in related field of study.
Considerable supervisory skills.
Considerable skill in planning and organizing jobs and work schedules.
RATE: $34.02/hr.
