Mission

The Marketing Specialist II works closely with Sales, Marketing Management and departments across EBSCO to gather information, organize, compile and submit responses to requests for proposals (RFPs, RFIs and RFQs) from library customers and prospects across multiple markets and product lines. Working as part of a successful team with established processes, the Marketing Specialist II will apply his or her skills as an information gatherer and writer to understand proposal requirements and craft tailored, winning responses.  The Marketing Specialist II supports post-RFP activities including assisting Sales Representatives with responses to follow-up questions, tracking the status of an opportunity and other tasks as needed.

The Marketing Specialist II may assist with a variety of non-RFP projects, such as copywriting, proofing and copyediting, web updates, etc., time permitting and as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize and complete responses to incoming RFPs, proposals and addenda as assigned.
  • Organize bid responses and maintain bid response files, including ensuring files are finalized for posting to centralized repositories.
  • Write technically-accurate, customer-focused bid responses (note, 90% of the role is research and writing based)
  • Work cross-functionally, providing final review and proofing to team members’ projects.
  • Work with sales management, technical support, product management as well as other internal departments to keep abreast of new developments and software features as they pertain to proposal/bid development.
  • Contribute to the update and maintenance of the teams’ repository of current information for use in RFPs.
  • Assist with marketing/communications tasks and projects, as requested.
  • Contribute and interact as a team player.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Library Sciences, English, Business, Marketing or Communications) and/or 2+ years’ experience working in a sales or marketing environment or comparable corporate environment with a proven record of successful communications and/or writing experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective communicator (speaking and writing)
  • Ability to write persuasively
  • Skilled at researching and applying information
  • Industry knowledge and sales/marketing background considered a benefit
  • Proposal/bid writing experience within a corporate environment preferred
  • Very strong writing and grammar skills
  • Proficient in MS Word as well as Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Library information systems
  • Knowledge and/or experience with EBSCO SaaS solutions a plus

 

Target Annual Compensation Range: $47,190 - 67,415

 

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
