Job Summary: Provide external beam treatment planning for the delivery of radiation as prescribed by a physician. Confer with the Radiation Oncologist to design and implement an optimal treatment scheme. Provide calculations to deliver prescribed doses of radiation to the patients tumor volume. Participate in quality assurance/improvement activities including checking patient records for accuracy and other projects as assigned by QI Team or supervisor. Design and construct treatment accessories such as immobilization devices, compensating filters, custom shaped blocks and molds. Participate in patient localization, simulation, contour, planning CT procedures and initial treatment set-ups. Participate in research projects, design and evaluation of treatment techniques and protocols. Supervise clinical experience of radiation therapist students assigned to Dosimetry.               Minimum Qualifications:

Certified Medical Dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) and a Bachelor's degree in a physical science or an Associates degree in RT(T), OR completion of a JCERT dosimetry program and board eligible. Board eligible applicants will be required to obtain board certification by the MDCB within 2 years of hire.
