Job Description

The Lead Financial Systems Analyst for Procurement works independently with operational support processes. The Lead serves as a direct backup to Assistant Director, Systems and Support to ensure that both the Hokiemart and Banner systems function correctly and, if not, reports issues to appropriate areas. This position helps with the review of specifications for programming of new system attributes. Additionally, this individual assists in system testing to ensure new attributes or software is performing accurately. The Lead Financial Systems Analyst interacts with campus system users and leads training programs. They also assist with front line support for Hokiemart help line calls, and monitor Hokiemart help incoming emails. The Lead is responsible for internal departmental budget reconciliations, placing purchases, assisting with or processing travel authorizations and travel reimbursements, and serves as the primary departmental purchasing card holder and performs needed monthly reconciliations. This position learns other operational staff duties and serves as a backup for them when needed in supporting the HokieMart helpline.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience. Advanced knowledge of keyboard applications, network, database, and word processing and spreadsheet applications. Communicates effectively and courteously with the public; prior experience providing customer service. Experience understanding and applying policies and procedures. Prior experience establishing priorities to efficiently meet required deadlines. Experience with automated financial systems. 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Banner Finance system, and Hokiemart.

Additional Information

This position would be eligible for a hybrid telework arrangement (2-3 days in office) following an initial onsite training period of 3-6 months. The successful Candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
