The Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, with Montessori Elementary Highland Park, is seeking a Director of HR & Operations.

Job Overview:

As Charter School Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the day-to-day operations of the school cafeteria, school transportation, and Human Resources departments at both Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy and Montessori Elementary at Highland Park. This is a Full-Time position.

 

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: Commensurate with experience and education: $65K-$75/annually.

Benefits: Includes comprehensive benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and TCRS).

Performance Responsibilities:

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive:

  • Supervises the recruitment, enrollment, transfer, and discharge of student processes along with the maintenance of related records and files.
  • Supervises the processes and security of the front office and school buildings, this includes all facility-related responsibilities, i.e., health department, insurance, and related facility certificates.
  • Maintains Human Resource records and processes to include, background checks, benefits, and other related governmental documents, as well as teacher recruitment. Assists the Executive Director with any related issues concerning employees.
  • Responsible for developing, communicating, and implementing HR policies.
  • Responsible for assigning substitute teachers in coordination with the Associate Principal.
  • Oversees school liability insurance policies.
  • Coordinates with HCDE for teacher licensure and Highly Qualified status.
  • Investigates circumstances of all school accidents involving students and employees and prepares required documentation.
  • Supervises the cafeteria and maintains records for school and nutrition which includes claims, verification, CEP, free and reduced lunch status, and bids.
  • Collects data for bus routes and monitors the efficiency of routes.
  • Establishes and maintains professional and cooperative working relationships with parents, students, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Prepares and submits all annual reports relating to area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

 

Qualifications Education:

B.A. or B.S degree required in Business Administration, Organizational Management or related discipline desired.

Experience:

Three years broad, varied and increasingly responsible experience in management and organizational procedures. Charter school experience desirable, not required.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures, related to operation, safety, food service, human resources, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to youth and employee records.
  • Ability to exercise common sense, patience and possess adequate coping skills to thrive within the pressures and demands of a charter school environment.
  • Ability to analyze problems and effectively resolve issues.
  • Have mastery of advanced computer skills in all Microsoft products.
  • Ability to learn new software and school operation processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task projects, people, and events.
  • Ability to both take direction and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to communicate with Board of Directors.
