Summary:

Collaborate with internal customers to plan, design, and develop effective and secured information systems to help improve performance, increase productivity and achieve the business goals.

Responsible for the support and upkeep of our systems infrastructure and possess an extensive understanding of client / server and application delivery systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or closely related field, or, in lieu of degree, for each year of college required at least two years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience with design, installation and management of complex heterogeneous client/ server infrastructure.
  • Professional Certification in an IT Client/Systems specialty (e.g., VMWare Certified Professional, Citrix Certified Administrator, Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional)
  • Strong analytical and technical skills to evaluate systems and system problems, formulate alternative solutions.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting distributed windows environments and client/server environments.
  • Expertise providing full spectrum support of Microsoft based systems to include Operating Systems and server applications (MS Exchange 2013, AD 2008R2 / 2012, DNS, DHCP, Live Communication server (Microsoft Skype), SCCM, Print/File services, IIS, SQL Server, File Integrity Monitor, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Windows 2012 / 2016 or later Active Directory/Group Policy design, implementation, administration, troubleshooting, and recovery in a multiple domain environment.
  • Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to follow through and work with minimal supervision is essential.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Extensive, in-depth knowledge of:

  • Experience with VBS and/or Powershell Scripting with ADSI (Active Directory Service Interface).
  • Basic network infrastructure and protocols -TCP/IP, SNMP, SSL, FTP
  • Basic network devices - switches, routers, network adapters
  • Hands-on experience with client / server systems design and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of Information Security

Manual and Physical Skill Required:

Periods of sitting and working at the computer. Frequent movement throughout hospital for on site work within other departments. Lifting of computer equipment.

Responsibilities:

Duties include but not limited to:

1.Regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion in dealing with changes to the client / server and application delivery systems. Manage related projects and coordinate / resolve any outages.

2.Manage small teams focused on improving the scalability, flexibility and overall management of the client / server systems and basic network infrastructure.

3.Lead the design and review of a distributed Microsoft Windows infrastructure.

4.Provide top tier support administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange 2013 / 2010 and mail gateways in a distributed Exchange environment and ensure best practices are implemented.

5.Provide top tier support administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting for Windows 2008R2/2012 Active Directory (AD) and ensure best practices are implemented.

6.Provide top tier support administering, monitoring and troubleshooting Citrix and VM Ware ESX servers.

7.Provide top tier support for administering, monitoring and troubleshooting Cisco UCS Blade Center Servers.

8.Manage and Monitor Windows OS servers and Microsoft systems.

9.Manage and troubleshoot Group Policy at all levels (local, OU, site, etc).

10.Create and maintain documentation as it relates to client / server systems design, systems configuration, testing and evaluation, and network configuration.

11.Provides leadership and guidance to the Network team and serves as the technical POC for network and service desk technicians on a daily basis. Maintain a positive team environment.

12.Install, configure and maintain the organizations client / server systems and have a deep understanding of basic system networks.

13.Assist in the management of implementation and upgrade projects related to client / server systems and operations.

14. Responsible for client / server system design, documentation, and change management.

  1. Monitors and quickly resolves service anomalies in network traffic, protocols, security breaches, viruses, system abuse or attacks, server based applications, host connectivity and utilization by methodically and responsibly following industry recognized and appropriate corrective actions.

16.Schedules, communicates and performs routine maintenance and upgrades on client / server systems hardware and software including operating system, firmware, and application delivery systems.

17.Create and maintain documentation as it relates to client / server system design, system configuration, and testing and basic network configuration.

18.Responsible for maintaining an inventory of all client / server systems hardware, software and peripherals.

19.Participate in the development, testing and implementation of disaster recovery procedures for critical systems.

20.Produces and furnishes Technical Services Manager with timely reports on work activity, results and outstanding issues. Informs the Technical Services Manager about the status of all departmental projects and activities related to client / server systems operations.

21.Maintains an awareness of new and emerging technologies which could be useful in supporting and/or advancing the initiatives and goals of IT and NOHS. Assists in research and development of improvements to Information Technology environment.

22.Assists in establishing department policies and procedures regarding client / server systems and application delivery infrastructure.

23.Performs other duties as assigned.
