The Professional Services Consultant position is a highly visible, active consultant role working directly with customers to ensure high levels of success with their EBSCO solutions.  The ideal candidate will bring a combination of business and technical acumen to the job and be a high-value SME.  The Professional Services Consultant will engage as a proactive, pragmatic champion for customers’ success by implementing a set of actionable tasks and responsibilities to meet customer needs and measures of success.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with EBSCO Sales in pre/post-sales situations.
  • Develop and/or maintain recurring customer-focused data processing commitments
  • Develop and deploy custom enhancements for customers’ EBSCO solutions.
  • Generate scope estimates for Statements of Work related to paid Professional Services
  • Conduct presentations for internal and external customers
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge, including understanding future enhancements
  • Advocate on behalf of customers, providing suggestions and feedback regarding product enhancements and improvements in order to improve product quality
  • Track and report on all engagement activities

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years working in a customer service, consulting or advisory capacity
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Information Services / library industry
  • Experience with Library Management software, CMS, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Learning Management Systems, SharePoint or related technical products.
  • Working knowledge of SAML-based Single Sign On
  • Working knowledge of RESTful web services
  • Working knowledge of web design (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP) and user experience best practices
  • Experience with Photoshop or other graphics imaging software
  • Manage multiple priorities and cope effectively with ambiguity and complexity
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
