Coating Scientist, f/t. Thorlabs, Inc., Newton, NJ. Provide technical leadership in design, R&D and manufacturing of thin film products. Coating designs from UV to IR for optical thin film products using thin film software, thin film fabrication & characterization tools. R&D of new thin film products for company product lines, OEM & special business designs. Responsible for thin film product quality & resolve production & quality issues. Develop & maintain thin film coating methods & procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiencies & quality; maximize labor utilization & reduce operating costs. Comply with product safety regulations.

Requirements: PhD in electro-optics, photonics or optics + minimum 12-month experience as a Coating Scientist, Researcher or Research Assistant involving optical thin film design.
