Head of Maintenance

The Newton Board of Education has an opening for a Head of Maintenance. Applicant must be a high school graduate with expertise in one of the following trades:  Plumbing, electrical, general construction, heating and ventilating. In addition, a good working knowledge in one of the other trade is preferred, and at least a familiarity with the other trades is required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is mandatory. Must be able to read blueprints and specifications. Shall possess a Black Seal Fireman’s License and be able to lift forty (40) lbs. The Head of Maintenance must have their criminal background check on file.

Maintenance Person

The Newton Board of Education has an opening for a Maintenance Person. Applicant must be a highschool graduate with a working knowledge in one or more of the following trades: Plumbing, electrical, general construction, heating and ventilating. In addition, a  familiarity with other trades and an ability to use the tools of each trade is required, including but not limited to: Hardtools, drills, grinders, paints prayers, welders, pipecutters and threaders, saws, fasteners and jackhammers. Possession of a valid driver’s license is mandatory. Must be able to read blueprints and specifications and have a high mechanical aptitude. Shall possess, or obtain within one year, a Black Seal Fireman’s License and be able to lift forty (40) pounds. The Maintenance Person must have their criminal history background check on file.
