Maintenance Mechanic

Chemical Company in SE MI is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic candidate with a strong knowledge of industrial and mechanical operations.

Position will perform corrective and preventive maintenance tasks including documentation and effective communication with the engineering, operations and maintenance groups.

• Must have good troubleshooting skills.
• Must have ability to plan and execute daily work activities. Must be available for a flexible work schedule which will require overtime and weekend work along with ON-Call coverage.
• Capable of reading and understanding blueprints, P&ID’s isometrics, construction drawings and equipment specification documents.
• Effectively complete piping fabrication, layout, routing and installation to established piping specifications and to perform equipment installation and set-up from documented instructions.
• Experience with welding in mild steel and stainless steel, using SMAW, MIG and TIG procedures and have knowledge of how to set up and use oxyacetylene torches and plasma cutters.
• Must have good understanding of rigging and rotating equipment.
• Should have basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Capable of safely operating mobile equipment (i.e. Fork trucks, JLG, scissor lift, etc).
• Must have basic computer skills in word processing, data base and spreadsheet software applications. HS diploma or GED required.
