Are you a proven events producer with a strong sales background? Are you looking for an opportunity to manage large events as well as develop additional niche offerings? We are seeking an events producer and developer to lead our events business for The Union. We are seeking an experienced and innovative individual who will manage our successful events each year and lead the expansion of this vital segment of our company.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): • Building and maintaining revenue for events from sponsors, advertisers and attendees through in-person and remote sales calls, including cultivating and securing sponsorships for key annual events. • Managing staff to ensure events are successful. • Communicating effectively with our Advertising Director and Publisher, including outlining new strategies for growth. • Developing and articulating strategy for the sales teams. • Identifying advertising objectives and target markets for products or services. • Building brand identity and raising awareness through meeting with potential partners, sponsors and speakers. • Consulting with outside advertising agencies and print, broadcast and online media representatives to negotiate advertising contracts. • Implementing effective marketing strategies through a variety of digital and social media options. • Preparing sales presentations, budget recommendations, and creative ideas for prospects and current clients. • Coordinating effectively with all other departments to accomplish goals for each event. • Working with clients and finance to ensure timely payment for all sold accounts. • Representing the company at client and company events to promote. • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Minimum three years prior sales experience required; media sales or marketing experience a plus, but not required. • Strong leadership skills. • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs. • Valid drivers’ license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation. The top candidates will be highly motivated and goal oriented, as well as outgoing and able to connect with a diverse pool of clients spanning many different spheres.
