Van Maanen Technology currently has Low Voltage Foreman positions open.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is interested in learning more about the low-voltage technological field, and has experience in low-voltage such as data cabling, fiber optic, security cameras, and access control. This individual will be working both individually and with other technicians. In this position, you have the opportunity to work in many different areas like Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Waterloo, and Dubuque! 

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a foreman
• Ability to lead a crew of 1 to 6 workers efficiently
• Ability to create an accurate two-week schedule
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Physical/Drug Screen/ Work-fit test
• Must be able to properly plan work
• Able to read and properly interpret blue prints, spec books, and instructional manuals.
• Working knowledge of all workplace tools and equipment
• Ability to properly perform all aspects of the job
• Installation of other low voltage systems, such as intercom and intrusion
• Systems service calls, including diagnosing, repairing, and/or replacing of components
• Ability to work alone or with other technicians
• Ability to train apprentices
• Ability to work with clients in a professional manner

Qualified candidates will have a blend of the following:

• 1 – 2 years of formal wiring installation & termination training
• 1 – 2 years of network training.
• 2 – 3 years of general low voltage experience, such as intercom, telephone, MATV
• 1 – 2 years’ experience reading & understanding project technical specifications
• 1 – 2 years’ experience reading & understanding project drawings and details.
• Good mechanical skills

Summary:

• Installation of door control devices (electric strikes, magnetic locks, & PIR devices)
• Installation of door control, power supplies, & cabinets
• Installation of analog & IP cameras
• Installation of Digital Video Recorders & Network Video Recorders
• Installation for both quality & aesthetics is required
• Installation & configuration of software applications for processors, PC servers & clients
• Installation of other low voltage systems (intercom and intrusion)
• Systems service calls (diagnostics, repairing, and/or replacing of components)
• Ability to work alone or with other technicians
• Ability to train apprentices
• Ability to work with clients in a professional manner
