Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Corporate Solutions and Economic Development (CSED), the Division Financial Manager is responsible for developing the operating budget and income and expense statements for projects, grants, programs, business units, and the division of Corporate Solutions and Economic Development (CSED) as a whole. This position is also responsible for performing a vital role to the financial success of the CSED team as well as helps developing strategic plans and key business decisions for the division.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Prepares and presents divisional quarterly income and expense reports plus analysis of results to the College’s financial team
  • Participates in the development of division strategic plans and key business decisions, including providing financial and managerial support
  • Develops and monitors metrics and measures for the division that accurately reflect the division’s financial effectiveness
  • Maintains financial health and long-term sustainability of the division
  • Establishes product +/- service models and gross profit margin goals; monitors and reports results of each engagement against these strategies
  • Participates in the review and oversight of the division contracts and grant agreements to determine budgets, profitability, and reporting requirements both internally and externally
  • Responsible for the division’s general accounting practices and business processes for accounts receivables, including all income and expense transactions, hiring, and payments to contractors
  • Supervises spending within the division for all sources of funds including grants, special allocations, and operating budgets
  • Ensures that systems consistently provide reliable financial and statistical information and that information is used in financial reports
  • Assists in predicting future financial trends of the division
  • Develops strategies that mitigate financial risk versus reward

Service Excellence
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Executive Vice President of Corporate Solutions and Economic Development

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of applicable statutory legislation and regulations
  • Skilled with finance software
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
  • Skilled using computerized applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to interpret financial data to staff and recommend next steps of action
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
