CIVIL SERVICE COMISSION OF THE BOROUGH OF BEAVER, PENNSYLVANIA POLICE OFFICER The Beaver Borough Civil Service Commission will be accepting applications for the position of full time Police Officer beginning July 6, 2021 and ending July 27, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Applications received later will not qualify for testing at this time. Applications and a full list of details may be obtained at the office of the Secretary of the Borough of Beaver, Municipal Building, Second Floor, 469 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009. REQUIREMENTS: US Citizen; high school diploma or equivalency and 60 college credit hours; a valid driver’s license and be eligible to legally operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; be certified under the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (Act 120), (MPOETC) 53 Pa. C.S.A. §2161 et seq., or successfully completed Act 120 Training and passed the final exam; and be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a Police Officer. The Commission may refuse to examine, or if examined, may refuse to certify any applicant who is physically unfit to perform the duties of the position, has provided any false or misleading information to the Commission, or has engaged in, or been found guilty of, any of the disqualifying offenses or activities listed on the application. Applicant need not be a resident of Beaver Borough at the time of application, however, upon appointment shall be required by the Council of the Borough of Beaver to take up residence within ten air miles of borough limits before attaining permanent status.
