Job Details:
  • GENERAL PURPOSE: The Applications Analyst¿s role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve application issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications. 2. Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues. 3. Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems. 4. Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving these systems. 5. Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades. 6. Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions. 7. Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems. 8. Act as a mentor/preceptor to new Application analysts 9. Exercise proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. 10. Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 11. Manage Assists in the management of projects with proven project management methodologies. 12. Functions as point of escalation for peers. 13. Manage and/or provide guidance to junior team members. 14. Develops policies, procedures, and end users materials within the Clinical Informatics area. 15. Maintain clear, concise documentation of all activities 16. Promotes a team approach through practice and example 17. Strives to further knowledge base by attending educational opportunities 18. Seeks opportunities to support the agency and its operations 19. Works within the policies and procedures of CRMC.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Education: College credits or degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration preferred and/or being pursued.

    Experience: Ten years recent experience in the design, development, and/or implementation and support of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products. Personal Qualifications: Must be courteous and exhibit very good communication skills. Must be able to exercise judgement, compassion, honesty, and respect for others in performance of job duties. Must be able to work independently, with attention to detail and accuracy. Presents self in a positive manner as reflected by personal attire and etiquette.
