General Maintenance Worker

2:30 pm-11:00 pm OR 2:30 pm-11:00 pm, 7:00 am-3:30 pm

This position exists to perform general cleaning and maintenance indoors and/or outdoors for the college facilities in order to create a pleasant and safe learning environment and preserve the condition of the buildings and equipment. This position is also vital to the setup/tear down for college and departmental special events.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of different types of flooring sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance.
Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.
Knowledge of methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to operate safely, demonstrate effectively and make minor repairs or direct repairs.
Valid Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to keep records and perform clerical functions and math calculations sufficient to order supplies and complete inventories.
Ability to read and understand written materials such as instruction manuals, and procedure and policy information.
Thorough knowledge of building custodial practices and procedures and equipment, materials and supplies.
Special Class C Boilers License or higher or the ability to obtain one.
Current Class A CDL driver’s license.
Ability to write reports.
Some knowledge of building utilities maintenance and repair.
Demonstrate ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives. 
Physical Requirements

Ability to pass Physical Exam
Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions (e.g. lifting, standing, sitting, pulling).
Physical abilities include - bending, stooping, and reaching above shoulder level, crouching, pushing and pulling.
Twisting and squatting are necessary on an occasional basis.
Ability to work outside in heat or below freezing weather.
Ability to work above the ground level such as on ladders and scaffolding. 
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
