Job Duties
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of faculty in the development of a research, and in the design and implementation of research-based interventions aimed at enhancing equity-focused approaches to curriculum and pedagogy in the teaching of the p-12 students in the State of Maryland and beyond. Coordinating research on curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Coordinate the curriculum and pedagogy work of the Center. In collaboration with other faculty members of the curriculum and pedagogy team, the Assistant Director will develop and implement a literacy-focused research agenda and under the leadership of the Director, will collaborate with the Assistant Directors assigned to other areas of work, to develop and implement a multidisciplinary approach to addressing the problem of educational inequity.
  • Develop a research agenda that advances the body of knowledge related to equity-focused teaching and learning. In addition to implementing the state-supported research of NCEED, the Assistant Director will also be expected to seek external funding in support of the work of the Center.
Requested Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Ph.D or Ed.D. in Education or related field from an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in curriculum and pedagogy work at P-12 level. Evidence of an active research agenda.
