Senior Development Officer

Rose Hill Center Established in 1992, Rose Hill Center (RHC), located in Holly Michigan, is a comprehensive, residential treatment and rehabilitation program for adults with mental illness. Rose Hill (www.rosehillcenter.org) provides medication support, education and training to help people from all over the country achieve their highest level of independence.

The Senior Development Officer has overall responsibility for fund development at Rose Hill. This individual reports to the President & CEO, supervises departmental staff and is a member of the senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish the overall strategy and direction in annual giving, major giving, planned giving and special events.
• Design and implement specific development strategies–prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship–to secure philanthropic support from individuals utilizing direct mail, face to face solicitations and special events.
• Identify and solicit support from area foundations and corporations.
• Establish a process of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for these selective donor segments.
• Working with department staff, organize 3-5 donor cultivation events per year to inspire supporters and strengthen their ties to Rose Hill.
• Working with department staff, oversee prospect research, gift processing and all necessary procedures for an effective fundraising operation.

Qualifications:

• BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university; CFRE preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of institutional fundraising experience with a comprehensive program.
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills.
• An appetite for being out in the community building relationships.
• Capital campaign and planned giving experience as components of a solid major gifts program.
• A passion to help those challenged with mental illness.
