Hearing Referees - $200/day

The Board of County Commissioners of Summit County (BOCC) acting in its role as the Board of Equalization (CBOE) is soliciting statements of qualifications for hearing referees.

Referees will conduct hearings on behalf of the CBOE, make findings and submit recommendations to the BOCC for its final action pursuant to the terms of C.R.S. 39-8-101 et. Seq. Candidates must be experienced in property valuation, preferably having a professional appraisal, real estate, or legal background.

Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum ten years of professional work experience involving the valuation of Colorado real property or J.D., or any combination of education and experience that produces the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to conduct hearings and make well-informed recommendations.

Selection will be based on an evaluation of factors including, but not limited to, appraisal experience, local knowledge of the region, and capacity to meet deadlines associated with 2021 appeal period.
