CITY OF FREEPORT FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Board of Fire and Police Commission is currently accepting applications for the

position of Firefighter/EMT-B

 Firefighter Minimum Requirements:

o Candidates must be between 21 to under 35 years of age, unless otherwise exempt by

statute

o U.S. Citizenship

o Valid Drivers License – Must be able to drive city vehicles and comply with the Illinois

Secretary of State requirements at time of appointment to the department.

o High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)

o Valid EMT-B certification issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) at the

time of hire.

o Residency within a radius of 20 miles from City Hall upon completion of probationary

period.

o Valid C-PAT required- at time of oral interview

o Licensed CPAT testing agencies:
