Shift: 8a-5p; M-F

Summary: 

Summary:
Aligned with the growth mindset of The MetroHealth System strategic plan, the Managing Principal of Innovations is the leader overseeing the intellectual property and technology transfer activities of The MetroHealth System. The Managing Principal of Innovations leads The MetroHealth System efforts within the Cleveland Innovation District, a JobsOhio supported endeavor that links together MetroHealth, University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland State, and Case Western Reserve with a focus on job growth and economic development for the region. In addition, the Managing Principal of Innovations oversees the inside out and outside in intellectual property, technology, and innovative activities across The MetroHealth System. This includes the interactions with spin off ventures, potential investors, inventors, and outside company partners working closely with all stakeholders.

Required:
Master’s Degree in Business, Health, or Public Administration or another health-related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
Ten years of operations management experience leading major initiatives or lines of business, with a strong strategy orientation.
Ability to analyze problems and demonstrated success in responding to market challenges and developing, negotiating, and implementing new partnership opportunities.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management,
Board of Trustees, and staff. Ability to communicate complex topics in a variety of forums, tailoring communications to effectively fit and influence the targeted audience.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:
Strategic business and healthcare awareness (healthcare reform, practice, and professional group trends) and proven ability to translate emerging trends relevant to the organization.

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read job related documents.
Ability to use computer.
