The City of Detroit Lakes (pop. 9290) is seeking an Accountant.

The Accountant assists the Finance Officer in maintaining the financial accounting system.

Primary duties include accounts payable, accounts receivable, special assessments, payroll, and reconciling general ledgers and bank statements while working within deadlines. We believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as part of their role with the City of Detroit Lakes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and three years' experience in finance or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Requirements:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles; ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections; excellent oral and written communication skills; experience with confidentiality and strong computer skills.

Desirable Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and experience in Governmental Accounting and/or Fund Accounting.

Salary range is $56,139.20 to $74,609.60.
