JOB SUMMARY
- Assists in operations, under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses or other surgical personnel. May help set up operating room, prepare and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons, hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needled, supplies, and instruments. Position may require call shifts with a response time of 30 minutes.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education and/or experience: Certification in Surgical Technology required and must be maintained. Prefer 1 year post educational experience.
  
  Knowledge: Knowledge of aseptic surgical technique and handling of surgical instruments and specimens. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including anticipation of patient and physician needs.
  
  Skills: Requires ability to monitor/assess performance of self, other individuals to make improvements or take corrective actions. Uses logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and acts in manner to affect positive outcomes.
  
  Abilities: Must possess the ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
