Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this position performs a variety of work activities that support the District operations, maintenance, and construction activities.  Essential duties include maintaining the District Main Canal, canal laterals and patrol roads; isolating systems and recording information on the District computer systems; maintaining the piping and valves within any District system; replacing turnout gates and other water diversion components; and operating a variety of motorized equipment such as pickup trucks, boom trucks, dump trucks, vacuum truck, graders, dozers, back hoe, wheel loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment as necessary including all vehicles/equipment that require a Class A CDL.

Minimum Qualifications include: High School Diploma or equivalent; Washington State Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement; Five years progressive experience at KID or 8 years progressive experience in construction, maintenance, landscaping, or other related fields; and acceptable Washington State vehicle driving record and criminal record.

The Customer Service Specialist is the first contact for KID customers who need help with their assessment account, water outages, and questions regarding other KID services.  Some of the duties of the position include assisting and tracking customer requests over the phone and in person; posting all payments received; maintaining an accurate database of correct ownership information; assisting as needed in the preparation of claims, petitions, and election information;  and responding to requests from title companies and lending institutions.  

Minimum Qualifications include: Two (2) years of closely related experience in a customer service and/or cashiering capacity (utilities or government experience preferred); High School Diploma or equivalent required (two-year college degree preferred); Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
