    The Cedar Manor CertifiedNursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting the Licensed PracticalNurse (LPN) with resident care and medication management.  The CNA provides personal care services,assistance with ADL's, and environmental and social support to meet the needsof our residents and to create a caring and safe environment.

    EssentialDuties and Responsibilities

    These duties and responsibilities describedbelow represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks maybe assigned.

    §  Communicates in verbal and written reports information thatrelates to and are planned and delivered to the residents

    §  Direct basic nursing care is provided for assigned residents underthe direction of a licensed nurse

    §  Complete/assist residents with all activities of daily living

    §  Offer emotional support and comfort to residents, as needed

    §  Maintain facility laundry and complete housekeeping activities, asassigned.  Disposes of all soiled linenin the laundry room in an appropriate and timely manner

    §  Ensure vital signs/weights are taken in a timely manner

    §  Accurately and clearly report any observed changes in residentstatus

    §  Answer call lights and respond promptly to personal requests byresidents

    §  Assist with admissions by orienting new resident/family to roomand facility

    §  Ensure resident room is kept in order

    §  Accurately and timely record TPR, I&O, WTS and nourishmentintake, as assigned

    §  Accurately completes resident care assignment with assigned shift

    §  Demonstrates effective documentation/communication skills

    §  Complies with established resident care standards.

    §  Maintain confidentiality of resident information

    §  Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, andin-services


    Educationand Experience

     

    Minimum Required Education:  High school diploma or equivalent, and successfulcompletion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program

     

    Experience: 2+ years' experience preferred, butwill consider newly graduated applicants

     

    Certificates,Licenses, Registrations

     

    Applicantmust be licensed to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Commonwealthof Virginia, and must be certified in CPR and First Aid.
