The job duties of a director of professional development revolve around planning training and professional development programs. Responsibilities also include creating plans for teaching staff about practices and procedures. Responsible for the development of nursing staff and other medical professionals.Collaborates with Center for Nursing Knowledge team on educational and training needs assessment and develops comprehensive action plan, as well as LCMC System. Designs, develops, and facilitates clinically focused professional programs including both internal programs and external programs.

In collaboration with the Magnet Program Director, provides support for the Magnet recognition program, assessing readiness, ensuring improvement strategies to meet Magnet criteria are formulated and implemented, development and completion of the Magnet re-designation application, annual report submissions, and site visit survey preparation. Responsible for hospital-wide efforts around developing, implementing, and enhancing conceptual models that drive professional nursing practice.

Requirements:

RN with MSN/MN or committed to obtaining MSN.

At least 5 years of nursing experience and 5 years of educational experience preferred

Current RN license in Louisiana

CPR, ACLS, and PALS instructor certification preferred.
