Project Engineer

Project Manager Description:

Electrical Consultants, Inc., a leading power engineering consultant firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced project engineer in its Tulsa, OK (physically located in Jenks, OK) office. ECI specializes in engineering services to electric utilities (substation, protection, transmission) alternative energy systems, communication, oil/gas, mining and heavy industry.

The successful candidate will work with multiple design teams involved with conceptual, preliminary, and final design of station projects 4.16 kV through 500 kV.

Project Engineer responsibilities include serving as a technical lead for a team of engineers and drafter/designers; leading 6-8 employees focused on substation design. The successful applicant will be responsible for coaching/training newer engineers on the ins and outs of substation design; therefore, a natural aptitude toward teaching is an asset. Other duties include interfacing with project managers to insure deliverable dates are met and client interface on projects as required. The successful applicant will manage the QC process for his/her team including planning resources and participating in QC reviews. Professional attitude and demeanor is important for success in this position.

Other duties include maintaining schedules, reviewing monthly budgets and client interface on projects.

The successful applicant will manage the QC process for his/her team including planning resources and participating in QC reviews. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

Minimum Requirements: Project Engineer

• BSEE or BSCE; 5+ years' experience in substation physical and P&C design; PE license required. Project Manager
• BSEE or BSCE; 10+ years' experience in substation design or similar field; PE license required.
