The Operations Coordinator of Pharmacy Supply Chain and Automation is a pharmacist leadership role that has responsibility for the development, prioritization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of pharmacy operations and processes. The Operations Coordinator will provide oversight, support, and evaluation of pharmacy operations and will advocate for the rational use of medications through process development, education, committee assignment, and staff development activities. The Operations Coordinator will maintain administrative responsibilities while providing ad hoc coverage in the staff pharmacist duties. In the event the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Manager are not available, the Pharmacy Operations Coordinator addresses all emergent personnel and operational issues.

 

Essential responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Work directly with all members of the pharmacy purchasing and operations leadership teams to proactively identify and implement drug shortage mitigation plans
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are maintained with daily workflow, including all aspects as required by the State Board of Pharmacy for drug purchasing, record retention, and use of pharmacy automation systems under the Ohio Administrative Code
  • Ensuring compliance with all Drug Supply Chain and Security Act (DSCSA) requirements
  • Ensuring 340B program compliance through monitoring of appropriate purchasing practices
  • Assist the Manager of Pharmacy Supply Chain and Automation with overseeing operations at CMC, RBC, SCC relating to shortage monitoring and optimization of inventory management
  • Assist with annual inventory counts in coordination pharmacy supply chain manager and purchasers
  • Assist with the development of monthly reports and analysis for pharmacy cost centers related to purchasing and utilization of medications
  • Other responsibilities as defined by departmental leadership based on departmental needs

  • R. Ph - Pharmacist - Registered
  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy program required.
  • PharmD preferred.
  • ASHP accredited residency program or min 3 yrs hospital experience preferred.

Preferred skill include:

  • Understanding/Application of State Board of Pharmacy Ohio Administrative Code
  • Understanding of Drug Supply Chain and Security Act (DSCSA) requirements
  • Experience with automated pharmacy dispensing systems, with the emphasis on implementation and optimization of automation platforms
  • Understanding of the 340B drug pricing program components as it relates to maintaining compliance for covered entities, with an emphasis on 340B APEXUS training
  • Experience with change management processes
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Proficient use of computer software such as Microsoft Excel for the development of analytic reports
