The Human Resources Specialist will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, providing support in various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices and be able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels.  This is an onsite job opportunity and will report to the Human Resources Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate and attend Career Fairs at Colleges, Universities, and other career sites, including online virtual career fairs. 
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting orientation sessions and processing new hire procedures.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related matters. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Handle employee inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. 
  • 2+ years of experience in HR roles.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to speak and write proficiently.
