Product Manager for Magna Seating of America, Inc. in Novi, Michigan.

Duties: Plan and direct product engineering and development teams in designing, building, and testing complex automotive seating components, sub-assembly, and system products, including new technology introductions, accelerated development cycles, and integrated product lines. Manage complete development cycles for designated products including design, build, and test activities, critical design review (CDR) process, ensuring compliance with government standards and customer requirements and overseeing formulation of engineering specifications and documentation.  Liaise with customer, supplier, manufacturing, and quality personnel. Review and approve engineering designs and change notices, and manage and ensure compliance with project timing plans and budgets. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or foreign equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in an automotive seating system product engineering position.
• 5 years of experience with each of the following: complete automotive seating system design and development, including defining Bills of Materials, parts and seats releases, tolerance stack-up for DFM, and utilizing CAD tools for complete packaging, installation, kinematic, and layout studies for complex mechanisms; developing sheet metal, plastic, and machined components for automotive seating systems utilizing DFMEA, including designing and building jigs and fixtures; CAD-based component-level testing and validation for automotive seating systems and components, in accordance with FMVSS and ECE specification standards; reducing seating structure mass and costs through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) and developing methods of utilizing common features across seat variants; creating Requests for Quotations and associated Bills of Materials for automotive seating systems, including change management throughout the design and release process, and CAD changes with CATIA v5; developing virtual manufacturing operations plans for automotive seating systems with Teamcenter, and performing product database management; supporting supplier management, production launch, and post-launch service operations for automotive seating system manufacturing programs.
